Friend Over Fences meetings this week

Friends, come out to our meetings this week and bring a friend ! -keith

WED, 12-13-17 Friends Over Fences Workshop at Grantham Church 6:00 pm .
Our program for the evening will be several videos about the Aging
population of inmates in our prisons. Everyone is invited to participate in
the discussion at this meeting. We will also address any questions or
problems you may have concerning prison ministry. We meet at Grantham
Brethren in Christ Church, 421 Grantham Road, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055 .
Remember that the Eat and Run $3.00 Meal at the church has resumed so you
can come between 5:00 and 6:00 pm to eat before the meeting then come to
our meeting that starts at 6:00 pm and goes to 7:30 pm. All are welcome,

Drive, New Cumberland, PA (in the private room at the right rear corner of
the restaurant). Held every Saturday morning from 7:15 to 9:00 am, ONLY FOR
MEN !! Order off the menu, Dutch Treat. 10 minute presentation by a
different man each week followed by going around the room for each man to
give his comments or pass. The presentations may be spiritual in nature but
not always. Every Man is invited regardless of his faith, denomination or
relationship with God. This group has been meeting for over 20 years at
various locations. Most of the men are Christian but not all. The current
leader of the group is a blind, messianic Jew. Several returning citizens
are regular attenders. This group has provided mentors, employment and
access to home plans to many returning citizens. Questions? Call Keith

area church to explain our prison ministry and see if the church is
interested in starting or expanding their prison ministry. We ask if we
can make an announcement to the congregation or teach a Sunday School class
about our support of Ex-offenders. We have several speakers but all are
welcome to come and share their experiences with the congregation. Call
Keith Sultzbaugh if you would like to go with us or have the name of a
church that you feel would be receptive to our cause. Last Sunday keith
sultzbaugh visited Derry Street United Methodist Church at 1508 Derry
Street, Harrisburg, PA 17104.

Friends Over Fences 3rd Annual Christmas Party

Dear Friends,

You are invited to this year’s Christmas Party and Dinner. CHRISTMAS DAY at
1 PM at Grantham Brethren in Christ Church.

Grantham Church has graciously offered to host the event and supply the
food and help.

*Who is invited?*
– Ex-offenders (or others) who have nowhere to go on Christmas, and their
families
– Friends Over Fences supporters
– Anyone interested in being a friend to those unable to celebrate with
their families this year.

*How can you help?*

*Attend! *If you are able to join us, please RSVP to me by replying to this
email.

Bring someone! Many of our returning citizens will have nowhere to go on
Christmas day and no transportation to the church. Invite them, bring them
and be blessed.

*Serve!* We are looking for volunteers to help set-up and serve the meal.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Dan Bisbee at
dbisbee@granthamchurch.org

*Bake!* We are aiming to have a bountiful dessert buffet as part of the
meal. Homemade desserts can be brought to the church on Christmas Eve or
Christmas Day to be served at the meal.

*Give! *We would like to give gifts to all ex-offenders and their families.
Individually wrapped gifts can be placed on the table in the family/library
entrance. Please label each gift for man, woman, or child noting the
appropriate age for the children’s gifts.

Service Representative for Career Link in the Capitol Region. Career Link
has been a tremendous resource to help Ex-offenders write Resumes, search
for Job interviews on their computers and connect with employers that
provide on the job training. Hillary will discuss the many programs and
services they offer. Everyone is invited to participate in the discussion

Sun. 10-22-17 – Visitation to Area Churches. Each Sunday we travel to an
area church to explain our prison ministry and see if the church is
interested in starting or expanding their prison ministry. We ask if we
can make an announcement to the congregation or teach a Sunday School class
about our support of Ex-offenders. We have several speakers but all are
welcome to come and share their experiences with the congregation. Call

church that you feel would be receptive to our cause.
