Keith Sultzbaugh Resigns

Yesterday I accepted Keith Sultzbaugh’s resignation from Friends Over
Fences.

Keith donated countless hours working with returning citizens by being a
Pen Pal to many men, helping to place them in housing, picking up and
delivering furniture and giving them work at his own expense and much more
that we never saw.

Keith will be missed and I want to thank him for his tireless efforts on
the behalf of returning citizens.

I know he will continue working with the needs of returning citizens
through his leadership of the Housing Committee for Capital Region
Ex-offender Support Coalition and the inmates he has befriended over the
years.

Blessings to all,

Stephen Sands

Ron James’ CHOICES The Movie Screening

Friends, I met Ron James years ago when I was speaking at SCI Pittsburgh on
a Sunday morning for 2nd Chance Ministries. Afterward he asked if I would
write to him and we have been good friends ever since.

His story is one of God’s grace in a man’s life as well as a man who is
determined to make the right choices now.

Keith and I have watched this man grow in the Lord and truly blossom as a
man of faith.

He has asked that we help him find places that will show his completed film
CHOICES so we are reaching out to you.

Would you ask your pastor to consider showing this at your church?

Would you Sunday school class sponsor the showing during the Sunday school
class time?

Does your church have a movie night?

Can you help Ron share his message of redemption?

Take a few minutes and watch the trailers listed below and I believe you
will see why this film will change lives.

And the contact Tj listed below to schedule Ron at your church.

Blessings
Stephen

Friends Over Fences 3rd Annual Christmas Party

Dear Friends,

You are invited to this year’s Christmas Party and Dinner. CHRISTMAS DAY at
1 PM at Grantham Brethren in Christ Church.

Grantham Church has graciously offered to host the event and supply the
food and help.

*Who is invited?*
– Ex-offenders (or others) who have nowhere to go on Christmas, and their
families
– Friends Over Fences supporters
– Anyone interested in being a friend to those unable to celebrate with
their families this year.

*How can you help?*

*Attend! *If you are able to join us, please RSVP to me by replying to this
email.

Bring someone! Many of our returning citizens will have nowhere to go on
Christmas day and no transportation to the church. Invite them, bring them
and be blessed.

*Serve!* We are looking for volunteers to help set-up and serve the meal.
If you are interested in volunteering, please contact Dan Bisbee at
dbisbee@granthamchurch.org

*Bake!* We are aiming to have a bountiful dessert buffet as part of the
meal. Homemade desserts can be brought to the church on Christmas Eve or
Christmas Day to be served at the meal.

*Give! *We would like to give gifts to all ex-offenders and their families.
Individually wrapped gifts can be placed on the table in the family/library
entrance. Please label each gift for man, woman, or child noting the
appropriate age for the children’s gifts.

Eddie McCrary to be released after 36 years

We are starting to see some of the Juvenile Lifers who recently became
eligible for release under the new law that declared that juveniles could
not be sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole.

Friends Over Fences has been friends with Eddie McCrary, a Juvenile Life,
for almost 4 years since Ron James introduced us to him.

Eddie is being released on Wednesday and Tod and Keith will be waiting at
SCI Chester to pick him up when he walks out the gates. After he checks in
with parole in Hbg, we will take him out to dinner and then he will do his
first speech as a free man to our meeting at Grantham BiC Church at 6PM
Wednesday evening.

Come and join us and listen to Eddie tell his story.
